Arburg Reopens its Newly Renovated Technology Center
After a two-year long modernization and remodeling project Arburg reopened its Technology Center in Radevormwald, North Rhine-Westphalia. The Arburg Technology Center (ATC) first opened its doors in 1982. Interestingly the ATC was Arburg’s first facility to be located outside its headquarters in Lossburg, Germany. The renovations were an important move that displayed the importance of the German market to Arburg. According to Michael Hehl the intention was to “marry aesthetics with functionality and environment protection in an outstanding way.” The ATC was prepared to clear out the facility right after its 40th anniversary celebrations on August 2022. The updates included installing photovoltaic and geothermal systems, a triple-glazed glass facade and efficient roof insulation. With the new modernizations and the use of renewable energies the annual energy requirements of the ATC come out to about 40% of a newly built comparable facility. The company says that its photovoltaic system can produce about 100,000 kWh a year, to cover approximately 60% of the facility’s total energy consumption. Additionally, new training rooms and state of the art presentation equipment were added to ATC’s top floor. The technical center also features seven of the company’s newest injection molding machines with clamping forces raging from 45 to 180 tons. Learn more about this topic here.
