Mantle Announces Partnerships with Westminster Tool on 3D Print Technology

On March 29-31 Mantle and Westminster Tool was showcased at the PTXPO. Westminster Tool, a Connecticut mold maker, revealed information from a medical device case study using Mantle's TrueShape metal 3D printer. It was reported that it would be one of only two beta-testing sites for the metal printing innovation. These companies joined together back in 2019 when they started working on improving the 3D printing of tool cavities. These businesses come together to make “medical-grade forceps from a highly filled resin as a means to test the design, material, manufacturing and injection molding process with metal 3D printed cavities.”

Plymouth Molding Group Manufacturing is Expanding 

Plymouth Industrial Development Corporation (PIDCO) announced last week that they will be building a new facility for Plymouth Molding Group. PIDCO will be building, owning, and leasing out this new space to Plymouth Molding Group for them to make injection molding plastics for RVs, construction, and agriculture. PIDCO and MCEDC have come together to help fund this $2.5 million manufacturing building which will be just around 4,000 sq ft. with the opportunity for growth when needed. Plymouth Molding Group makes just around $600,000 capital investment in additional equipment to grow their operations to meet demand. As on now Plymouth Molding Group has 18 employees and are wanting to take on an additional 8 more with the new location.
