Engel is Expanding at a Rapid Pace in Mexico
Injection molding machine maker Engel continues to expand rapidly in Mexico. The company will invest $32 million to build a multifaceted facility in Queretaro, Mexico. In addition, it will also double the number of employees in Queretaro. This new move is in accordance with the company’s “close to customer” philosophy and it is part of a larger plan in which the company looks to establish optimal sales, logistics, and production structures in three major regions including Europe, Asia, and the Americas. CEO of Engel group, Stefan Engleder, mentioned that the reason they decided on Queretaro as the ideal place for the expansion is because “it is the place to find, develop, and hold talent.” The company already operates two service and distribution centers in two Mexican cities, Queretaro and Monterrey. The company said that it will purchase more land in Queretaro that is suitable for further expansion. The new land is about 70,000 square meters in size. The project will cost around $32.3 million and it is set to double the number of employees by the end of the fiscal year. The company also mentioned that customers from across North and South America will benefit from the capacity and expertise enabled by this expansion. Learn more about this topic here.

LyondellBasell Announced New Masterbatches that Give PET a Matte Frost Effect
Recently introduced Polybatch Effects FROST masterbatches give PET packaging a sophisticated matte frost effect. They come in two styles, and they can be combined with a variety of colors to achieve a high-end look. A potentially useful feature is that the masterbatches are able to reduce the appearance of recycled PETand give it a more premium aesthetic. Furthermore, Polybatch Effects FROST is FDA compliant for food and cosmetics packaging and on top of that it is also compatible with NIR sorting which promotes recyclability. The masterbatch is cost-effective and it is compatible with existing injection stretch blow molding machinery, requiring no tool or equipment changes of any kind. LYB is currently focused on developing sustainable solutions for everyday living. To that end the main focus of the company’s Polybatch Effects FROST masterbatches is to enable clients and brand owners to achieve a premium aesthetic while also prioritizing their sustainability goals. In addition to food and cosmetic packaging Polybatch Effects FROST can also be applied to personal and home care packaging. Nuria Vallespi Salvado, Business Manager Colors at LYB said, "These new product grades exemplify LYB's commitment to crafting solutions for sustainable daily living.
