Biomerics Announces Acquisition of Dependable Plastics
Biomerics, a manufacturer of medical device components, has announced that they have acquired Dependable Plastics. Due to this acquisition, Biomerics has developed their Interventional Medical Plastics Division, using their new plastics processing expertise to design and manufacture components for medical robotics and other interventional markets. Dependable Plastics brings experience in advanced thermoforming, liquid cast resin molding, and additive manufacturing to Biomerics’ injection molding capabilities. The IMP division offers new secondary processes like pad printing, painting, shielding and sub-assemblies. Biomerics, a supplier to 20 of the top medical device OEMs, provides interventional medical plastics, injection molding, materials and compounding, extrusion, micro machining of metals and polymers, balloons and balloon catheters, image-guided interventional technologies and more. MRPC to Expand and Refine Florida Facility
Medical device injection molder MRPC has announced they will be updating and expanding their Florida facility. The remodel will add more than 2,000 square feet of usable manufacturing space in addition to optimizing production flow. Carl Lider, the COO of MRPC mentions that the company took months to analyze their previous manufacturing process and identified bottlenecks. The new space is going to be used for new injection molding machines, further automating the manufacturing process. Energy efficiency is another key focus of this remodel, implementing a reflective roof, LED lighting, hurricane-proof windows, and updated insulation.
