Canada Funding For Manufacturers To Adopt New Technologies
Canada Funding For Manufacturers To Adopt New Technologies
Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) has launched the Technology Investment Program, designed to help small- and medium-sized southern Ontario manufacturers compete on the global stage by investing in advanced manufacturing technologies to automate production and reduce their environmental footprint.
Funded by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), this program provides direct financial assistance to eligible manufacturers in the form of a matching contribution of up to $50,000 to support their investment in long-term production assets and technology.

Will AIs Take Over the Injection Molding Industry ?
The Injection molding industry has seen a rise in the adoption of AI technology. Engel and various other molding machine manufacturers continue to improve their AI capabilities with the goal of preventing excessive waste of resources during the IM process. But what exactly do these algorithms do? Well since minimizing waste and increasing efficiency has become an important notion in the IM manufacturing industry; it stands to reason that the AI algorithms have the focus of increasing efficiency in any way possible. More specifically, they are aimed at preventing wasted energy, time, material, and equipment maintenance. They do this by controlling specific elements in the process with great precision. They extend screw recovery time, reducing wear and tear of injection molding units. They adjusting clamp tonnage to the precise amount needed for a specific mold, saving energy and mold wear. They can also control the pump speed of the TCU to provide just the right flow for appropriate cooling, which is a huge energy saver. These molding algorithms may prove to be huge margin savers, something that will surely contribute to the wide spread adoption of AI in the molding arena . Learn more here.

SABIC Launches New cutting edge Compounds that Enhance Signal Capture in Car Navigation systems
SABIC Launches New cutting edge Compounds that Enhance Signal Capture in Car Navigation systems
Chemical industry leader, SABIC launched two novel LNP THERMOCOMP compounds that enhance signal gain performance in automotive global navigation satellite system (GNSS) antennas. In contrast to ceramic materials the new compounds can be injection molded into antenna substrates with ease, which has the added benefit of reducing waste, increasing throughput, and decreasing costs. The LNP THERMOCOMP ZKC0CXXD and THERMOCOMP ZKC0DXXD compounds facilitate the design and molding of antenna substrates with more complex pattern markings, which add effective surface area, a key attribute in optimizing signal capture. Signal capture is especially important for second generation GNSS antennas which combine signals from satellites with two different frequencies for a higher resolution. The compounds feature enhanced thermal resistance, electroplating capability, and the production efficiency and flexible design capability that comes with thermoplastics. Learn more here.
